Every year in Melbourne that are literally hundreds of knife attacks reported to the police. Melbourne's growing knife culture is particularly strong among teenage boys and young men. Many carry knifes for their own protection under the illusion that this will help keep them safe. The truth is is only makes things worse.
This has been a reason for many to start Ju jitsu training with our school, because we take knife defence training seriously. Some of the subjects covered at the seminars include - Protecting your neck, Slashes and Stab defences, Evasive footwork for escaping and Grab and Stab defences where an opponent grabs your shirt for instance and then tries to stab you with a knife.
This YouTube clip above shows just a few basic techniques done slowly that we put together as an overview. Knife defence training is practiced as a natural extension of our Ju Jutsu skill set.
